Edward J. Nuttall graduated from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, in 1996. During law school, Mr. Nuttall was employed as a law clerk for Winthrop Simpson, Putnam & Roberts in Washington, D.C. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Nuttall worked with the Lipsen Firm in Washington, D.C. where he gained experience in lobbying and legislation while working with the defense industry on Capitol Hill. In 1999, Mr. Nuttall joined the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney for Fairfax County where he served as an assistant. In 2002, Mr. Nuttall joined Briglia Hundley Nuttall & Kay, P.C., as an associate, becoming a member of the firm in 2003.

Mr. Nuttall focuses his practice on civil litigation, administrative and employment law, criminal defense, domestic relations and personal injury matters. Mr. Nuttall currently serves as General Counsel to the Fairfax Coalition of Police, Loudoun County Law Enforcement Coalition and the Falls Church City Coalition of Police. As General Counsel, Mr. Nuttall is responsible for advising his clients on legal compliance issues related to the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Virginia Worker's Compensation Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, and other federal, state and local administrative and personnel laws. Mr. Nuttall's legal and legislative efforts on behalf of law enforcement during the 2005 Virginia General Assembly session contributed to the passage of SB 873, which guarantees law enforcement officers time and one half on all overtime hours worked.

Mr. Nuttall is also experienced in criminal litigation and investigation matters and has served as lead counsel in numerous trials as a state prosecutor and in private practice. Currently, Mr. Nuttall serves as the Assistant Prosecutor for the Town of Vienna.
