Daniel T. Lopez
Daniel Lopez graduated from the George Washington University School of Law in Washington D.C. in 1996. During his law school years Mr. Lopez clerked for the United States Court of Claims. He also had an internship at AYUDA, a non-profit organization that assists immigrants, and he was a summer associate at Garfinkle & Associates. Upon graduation Mr. Lopez clerked for the Connecticut Superior Court in New Haven, Connecticut where he worked daily with judges of the Superior Court on a variety of legal issues both civil and criminal. Upon completion of his clerkship in 1997 Mr. Lopez joined the Office of the Public Defender in Fairfax County Virginia. In 2001 Mr. Lopez left the Office of the Public Defender and co-founded the law firm of Lopez, Meleen & Sprano, PLC. In 2009 Mr. Lopez joined the Briglia Hundley Nuttall & Kay, PC.
Throughout his career as an attorney Mr. Lopez has focused primarily on criminal defense and immigration litigation. He has diverse experience in handling the most complex misdemeanor and felony cases. Mr. Lopez has successfully handled thousands of cases throughout Northern Virginia and has extensive and successful jury trial experience in criminal cases , including DUI/DWI, reckless driving, drug distribution, fraud, larceny, embezzlement, rape, robbery and murder. Further, Mr. Lopez is has experience litigating the complex felony cases including death penalty cases. He has extensive experience in trying DNA cases, involving robbery, murder and rape and has taken over 50 cases to trial with a jury. Mr. Lopez has earned the respect of judges and prosecutors throughout the criminal courts in the Counties of Loudoun, Fairfax, Arlington and Prince William.
